Join with other dog-loving attendees as we take over Quakertown Park and the Civic Center Pool at Texas’ original celebration for pooches and their people.

Dog Days of Denton is a FREE event and proudly welcomes friendly dogs and their owners. All owners are responsible and liable for their pet(s). For everyone’s safety, dogs must be on a leash during the event and have proof of current vaccinations.

Get V.I.Paw Access

V.I.Paw Ticket holders receive access to Denton’s official dog pool party at the Civic Center Pool. Each V.I.Paw Ticket is valid for 1 person with 1-2 dogs.

V.I.Paw Tickets include:

  Dog Singing

Have you heard dogs sing the song of their people? Pooches that can belt out their best howls are encouraged to perform in this popular contest. Dogs compete to be our top musical icon!

  Canine Couture Costume

Doggies decked out in the best creative costume or cool canine fashion can strut their stuff on the runway. The best-dressed and the cutest will compete in this charming fashion contest.

  Dog Tricks

We all know that “sit, stay, and shake,” are all tried-and-true tricks, right? Does your little tail-wagger do those…AND MORE? Wow the audience and judges in this contest of talents and tricks.

  Doggie Band Stand

Let the DJ take you back to the 1950s–American Bandstand days–with our very own Dick Clark to judge you and your dog as dancing partners! May the best dancing duo win!

  Splash Off

This one’s for all the water lovers out there! A special contest for V.I.Paw ticket holders at the Civic Center Pool. Ready to make waves? How big of a splash will your doggo make?

  • Is this event free to attend?

    Dog Days of Denton is a free event and proudly welcomes friendly dogs and their owners. However, entry to the dog pool party at the Civic Center Pool is limited to those who purchase a V.I.Paw Ticket and sign the waiver. You may purchase a V.I.Paw Ticket and sign the waiver on the day of the event.

  • Where can I park?

    Parking will be available at the Civic Center parking lot located at 321 E. McKinney Street. There is also a public parking lot south of the Civic Center across the street.

  • Can kids attend?

    Absolutely! Kids are welcome to attend, but dogs at the event should be handled by those who are 16 years of age or older. Be aware that this event does include alcohol for those aged 21+.

  • What happens if I lose track of my child or my dog?

    Let’s hope that doesn’t happen! The stage area will serve as the main point of Lost & Found and event personnel can direct you there.

  • Will food be available?

    Yes! Food is available for purchase. Food vendors are located in “Fido’s Food Truck Trail” in the parking lot south of the Civic Center Pool.

  • What happens if a dog becomes aggressive?

    As per the rules of the event, any dog that becomes aggressive will be removed from the event premises for the safety of the participants.

  • What happens if my dog gets hot?

    Cooling stations are available at the event. Look for water and shade. Additionally, you may purchase a V.I.Paw Ticket to the dog pool party at the Civic Center Pool where there is plenty of water and shade to cool off.

  • What should I bring with me?

    We recommend you bring poop bags, folding chairs, sunscreen, and your friendly dog(s) on a leash.
